Nationwide Stay Removed on Corporate Transparency Act Filing Deadlines
Feb 19, 2025
On February 17, 2025, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas removed the nationwide stay on the filing deadlines for the Corporate Transparency Act (“CTA”). As a result, the reporting requirements for community associations have been reinstated.
FinCEN acknowledged the difficulty with understanding the changing timelines, so it has extended the deadline for reporting to March 21, 2025. The recent article from CAI can be found below.

At the same time, Congress is currently considering federal legislation that would repeal CTA entirely. There is no timeline on when this matter will be considered, but it is active in both houses of Congress. The legislation is H.R. 425 in the House and S. 100 in the Senate.
This continues to be a developing matter, but at the time of this communication applicable community associations should proceed to file their BOI reports by March 21, 2025. Please contact us for further information or with any questions you may have.
